Implements of Argent...

Here's the scoop on the group set items:

Controler's Rod +3 - +3 Att/Dmg rolls; Daily power: attacks also weakens targets (save ends) - Karza has this. Anyone that can use an implement can use this, but it doesn't stack with magic weapons/implements so Karza is probably the only one that would use it.

Leader's Helm - Simon has this. Only affects healing powers so no one else can use it.

Champion's Ring - + 1AC/Ref per set item equiped; Daily power enemies gain vunerability to one type of damage untile end of next turn - Zane has this. Anyone could use this.

Stiker's Longbow +3 - +3 Att/Dmg rolls; Daily power you and one ally gain combat advantage and +10 damage against the target until the end of your next turn. - The enchantment can be transfered to any weapon, so any of us could use it.

Defender's Scale +3 - +3 AC; Resist 10 cold and fire; Daily power attack that "marks" also dazes. - Can only be transfered to chain, scale or plate armor. Simon could use it. Xandra could use it if she took the chain mail feat at 14th level. I didn't see any penalties in the Barbarian description for wearing chain, but I don't know if it would affect any of her powers or feats. I don't meet the prereques for chain, scale or plate, and if I did wear chain my AC would DROP by 5.

So... If we want everyone to have one item Wendy would need to take the chain mail feat at 14th level and transfer the Defender's scale to a set of chainmail (we'd have to find/buy a set that could be enchanted.)

If we just want all of the item to be used, Simon could take Armor and the Helm and the other 3 items would go to 3 of the other 4 pc. Someone would not get the set bonuses, but the 4 that got them would have the max bonus possible. Simon's current armor (Summoned Scale +3) can be transfered to any armor type. And, we have a Greatsword +3 as well. So who ever didn't get a set item could transfer one or both of these items to their armor/weapon.

  1. If we're going with every body gets one item (Xandra would have to take the armor, Simon would take the helm, Karza, Zane, and I would take the other 3.) My first choice would be the ring. My second would be the weapon.

If we go with Simon taking the helm and armor, I'd still want the ring. If it went to someone else, I'd take the weapon, if both went to someone else I'd opt out of the set item and transfer the Simon's armor and the +3 Greatsword to my current equipment.

  2. Chris just pointed out that the bonuses are based on the number of allies wearing items, NOT on the number of items worn. So if Simon takes 2, we'll get all 3 of the bonus powers, but some of the bonuses will only be +4 rather than +5 if we each had one item.

    Just FYI.

  3. One last thing...

Just to clarify, the transfer enchantment ritual (pg 198, Aventurer's Vault) states that transfer an enchantment destroys the receiving item's existing "powers." It doesn't specifically mention anything about an item's "properties." I'm assuming those are destroyed as well, but that's just an assumption on my part.

  4. No, really, just one more...

It looks like the Controler's Rod only works as an Arcane implement. It adds it in to my attacks/damage when I equip it in character builder, but not to Karza's (primal.) Chris can work around the issue in character builder, but just wanted to make sure William knows it's not technically an implement he can use.

Worst case we can transfer the striker's weapon to a staff which Karza can use as an implement, but then the only logical choice for the controler's implement is Zane. So, it does limit our choices.

  5. I am good with those choices. I do like my armor I have now, but if it works out for the group I could wear the other. I would like to transfer the lucky broadsword to a longsword. (less damage but easier to hit things)
Thanks for posting Rodney. Let us know if you are England bound. Darin

  6. I am indeed going to the UK. So I won't be at the game next week.

  7. Wendy asked me to post for her:

The armour is no good for her as the heavier armour would negate her stat bonus making her AC worse than it already is. The ring however would help her AC without any kind of drawback. Relly's AC already seems pretty good so it makes more sense to give the ring to her, granted she is aware that her higher hit points do offset this to some degree. Her opinion is that the weapon makes more sense in Relly's hands instead. Karza should continue using the implement (yes William is aware that it technically was not meant for druids but it will function in this role). Simon is really the only one that can wear the armour with any affect and without devoting additional feats and with the special properties of his current armour he could technically wear both. Unfortunatly that would leave zane with the helm. At first glance that seems like a waste, but the healing affect is really not all that great (5 resist cold/fire for one round) while he can still use the ability to give attack roll bonuses.

  8. True. I hadn't considered just someone else using the helm w/o the healing powers. That being the case, I think Zane should keep the ring, his AC isn't great (I don't think, but I could be wrong) and with his hit points he needs all the help he can get.

If Simon is willing to take the armor (he'd mentioned not wanting to give his current armor up) I'd take the helm, or if Xandra wanted the helm, I'd take the weapon. At least then all 5 of us have an item. The weapon's powers will work for either of us.

  9. I would be happy to use any of the items. Just an FYI. The ring grants the AC bonuse when you are bloodied. I tend to get bloodied the fastest with my few hit points.
Xandra and Simon have more abilities to heal themselves than Karzza and myself so i think it should go to either he or myself. If the rod will work for Karza then he should have that, if not I would be able to use it, but I am already useing a +2 staff so it would benefit Karza more.
