Great Teamwork

Nice job as always, your ability to work as a team is really making you guys lethal (Rodney your backing the party out of a tight situation was impressive). I would love some feedback as to areas that you would like to see changed or improved. Out of character are there things that you think are working very well or not well at all, are there things that seem strange or out of balance and am I doing a good enough job with descriptions? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Also, be thinking about level 3, I don't know if you will get there next week or not, but possibly by the end of the night. You all are flying through the dungeon, but there is still a lot left to do.

  1. At the risk of repeating myself, I'm having a blast. I think everyone is doing a great job at utilizing there specific abilities. And, William, I am really impressed with how you've been able to keep things running so smoothly. I feel like the balance of role-play and action is perfect. Even the night we spent most of the evening in Winterhaven didn't feel like the usual "lull in the action" session.

I think we (the PCs) need to keep reviewing our abilities to make sure we're running them correctly (me rolling the d6 when I let someone heal up, only using a basic attack when I use my commander's strike to let someone else attack, etc.) and to make sure we're not forgetting something useful.

William, with all you've got to track, you might make up a character sheet for Splug (minus any info we shouldn't/couldn't know.) Then one of us could run him and whatever goblin abilities he has during combat. Just a thought.

  2. Yes I meant to put together a sheet for splug, but did not have time. I will have one next week.

I too would like to see everyone still reading off their abilities, at least the first time they use them in an encounter so that I can remain familiar with them.

I keep looking over stuff and finding little things that we may not be doing correctly. Looking at "marked" last night actually makes me think that the oportunity attack that it triggers is actually only for fighters as their mark ability is called "combat challenge" while the paladin's is "devine challenge". In the conditions section it only mentions that the mark gives them -2 on an attack that does not include the marked target.

I would appreciate anyone who finds a power or rule that we are not doing correctly to let me know.

  3. William, as for my part, do not feel like you have to rush to keep things flowing as smoothly as you think it should be running. You have a lot to keep track of, and I am impressed that you are doing as well as you have been doing; but you have put a large amount of time becoming familiar with the new rules (all of them).

I feel that you have done a good job of balancing description with action.

  4. Thus far everything is going very well. I like the new group a lot. 4th edition is right up Rodney’s alley for tactics. Wendy is doing a great job of knowing what she is doing on her turn (used to be kind of slow). Darin seems to love his character and if he could role over a 3 he would be deadly. That sneak attack is bad ass. I personally love combat and we have had a lot of it so far. The book (adventure) seems to give decent descriptions on what areas that we are in, but I always like as much more info on what we see just so that I can visualize better. I personally will try to flare up what I am doing, especially in combat. Ie. Challenging; in character my combatants to actually mark them. I think that would make the powers a lot more fun rather than just saying Paladin Mark that bastard. Things really can’t get much better right now. Every battle does seem to be epic, which is cool for 1-5 level characters.

  5. Ok everyone is in agreement that life is good. I love that we are back together. I like the adventure. It gets us started and we will build off of this. Mondays are something that I always look forward to.
